The Millbrook & Cavan Historical Society invites you to bring one or two of your favourite antique keepsakes or collectibles for a show & tell evening.
In both October and March, the Millbrook and Cavan Historical Society welcomed people to the Millbrook Legion Hall to recount memories of a specific time: the era of the Millbrook Correctional Centre, and local happenings in the 1970s and 1980s. In January, stories at our annual Tea at the Manor centered on memories of the care and the skills that went into making sure there was a variety of food to eat in those cold winter months when fresh produce was scarce or non-existent.
So, now for something a little different! Just about everyone has a treasured object handed down from generation to generation, or a knickknack that Uncle George entrusted to your care that you simply can’t part with. Every piece will have a history; a story of its own.
Peter Ramsay will MC the evening, and will bring along a few of the more curious tools and relics he has picked up over the years. Renowned for his “What Is It?” presentations, he is bound to stump us all with his more obscure finds.
