Thursday, October 23, 7:00 pm, we welcome as our guest speaker David Beaucage Johnson, presenting a dynamic talk on Indigenous Peoples Then and Now, Here and Beyond. This, our season-opening event, will take place at the Millbrook Legion Hall, 9 King Street East, with doors open at 6:45.
Maps and places top the list of David’s favourite things, along with horse and buggy rides, sable paintbrushes, compasses, gps units, sealing wax, imperial star destroyers and cufflinks. A Mississauga Anishnaabe of the Turtle Clan, David is an artist, geographer, historian, cultural advisor for Petroglyphs Provincial Park and instructor in the Continuing Education Program at Trent University.
Please join us! There will be light refreshments, a cash bar, and a Membership Table set up for renewals and information. Our Membership fee remains $15/single, $25/family. Your support through membership allows us to maintain our extensive local history collection, broaden our outreach initiatives and engage speakers for the gatherings we hold.
We look forward to welcoming you.
