Glen Fallis – The Life and Times of a Modern-Day Voyageur

What a great night!

Glenn Fallis, sternsman for the 1967 Ontario canoe in the Voyageur Canoe Pageant, held a crowd of about 100 spellbound as he described the race that still holds its place in the Guinness Book of Records.

Following the viewing of the video that Glenn and Greg Cowan produced after the race, MC for the night, Dan Bourgeois, invited audience members to ask questions that prompted both amusing anecdotes and fascinating details about racing techniques and canoe construction.

The smiles say it all. Thanks, Glenn and Dan!

Thanks also to the Canadian Canoe Museum that donated two tickets to their fabulous new facility as one of our door prizes.  Glenn generously supplied additional prizes; a Voyageur Canoe Company paddle and two autographed copies of his Voyageur Canoe Pageant DVD.

We also appreciate the friendly hospitality of Branch 402 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Millbrook.

They were quick to supply more chairs and yet more chairs as the crowd grew!  Thank you!
