An Evening with Archaeologist Tom Mohr

Tom Mohr joins us as MCHS’s special guest for an informal discussion on “Digging Up the Past: An Informal Guide to Ontario Archaeology”. He will talk about his experiences as an archaeologist and history from his unique perspective.

Tom is a co-founder of the Pickering Township Historical Society and helped to open the doors of Lindsay’s Olde Gaol Museum as a former Director and President of the Victoria County Historical Society. A licensed archaeologist, he is also a founding member and currently President of the Peterborough Chapter of the Ontario Archaeological Society. Tom is currently co-editing a book of Old Victoria County history and lore, in tribute to the late Rae Fleming.

St Johns Ida Anglican Church

We are a community church in the Anglican Tradition, located in the beautiful Cavan Hills, 15 minutes west of Peterborough. We are the only Church in the hamlet of Ida, which is in the township of Cavan Monaghan. Being a “community” church means that we are a church for the entire community, not just those with an Anglican background. A significant number of us have come from other Christian traditions, or none, to be part of the church family here at Ida.

We have been “Celebrating Jesus for 200 years”!
