DESCRIPTION:The village of Millbrook is remarkable for its well-preserved heritage homes and properties\, and has an interesting history. \nPlan a day out in Millbrook and enjoy a self-guided walking tour that will feature some of the architectural gems in the village and outline some of the area’s rich history. \nYou can view the properties in the guide book in any order you want\, or you can start at the first house in the booklet\, 3 Bank Street North (known as The Ontario Cottage). The Self-Guided Walking Tour booklet\, found below\, guides you through town and features over 25 properties. \nComfortable walking shoes are highly recommended\, and walkers are cautioned that there are some hills to climb.  Free for members\, by free-will donation for non-members. \n\nView Self-Guided Tour Booklet\n \nThe map below shows the historic properties included on the tour. DESCRIPTION:This event is free for MCHS members; guests are admitted by donation. \nTom Mohr joins us as MCHS’s special guest for an informal discussion on “Digging Up the Past: An Informal Guide to Ontario Archaeology”. He will talk about his experiences as an archaeologist and history from his unique perspective.\nTom is a co-founder of the Pickering Township Historical Society and helped to open the doors of Lindsay’s Olde Gaol Museum as a former Director and President of the Victoria County Historical\nSociety. \nA licensed archaeologist\, he is also a founding member and currently President of the Peterborough Chapter of the Ontario Archaeological Society. Tom is currently co-editing a book of Old\nVictoria County history and lore\, in tribute to the late Rae Fleming.
